There's No Bad Weather, Only Bad Clothes
Did you know "There's no bad weather, only bad clothes" rhymes in Swedish? I love how the seasons change in Scandinavia. I love weather. As a Swede, I think that's quite common. We are used to all kinds of weather and we need to be prepared.
I often get questions about if our bags, and especially the suede, can stand the rain. Both leather and suede is living materials and they do stand the rain. Just remember to take care of it to keep its strength and glow. Here are my best leather care tips on how to treat our bags:
1. Wipe and/or brush the bag from dirt and small stains. Use a Suede Brush to remove dirt and dust from suede or leather products. This prepares the suede and leather before impregnation and lifts the fibers after washing.2. Take a small amount of Lotion on a polishing cloth and work it into the leather, a thin layer is enough. Let it dry for 5-10 minutes and then brush it up with a brush. If the leather is dry repeat the procedure.3. Spray the leather and suede with Renovateur Protecting Spray. The bag should be relatively clean and make sure they are properly dry.
Spray evenly over the entire bag from about 20 cm distance. Suede Renovateur is highly concentrated, so one layer around the bag is enough. This is done outside. After 10-15 minutes you can go over the suede gently with the suede brush.
You now have very good protection against water and dirt that goes deeper into the material! How often your bag need spraying depends on the conditions they are used in and how often they are worn, but around once a month with normal use is recommended. Especially during the rainy and snowy season.
I have chosen to offer Saphir leather care products not just because they are our own favorite but because, unlike most leather and suede care brands, Saphir has its own factory and laboratory in France. This gives them a completely different opportunity to maintain the quality level of their products and to constantly refine and develop their range. Saphir's great strength is the high level of raw materials.
Let's make this part of our once-a-month-Sunday routine :)
Love,
Elena
